Stemming from our “basic principles” all our programs are geared towards targeted goal achievement.
The goal setting process is driven by input from family, authorities, assessments and most importantly the young person. Strategic priorities are developed and endorsed by all. Each priority is broken down into a series of tasks to complete leading to goal attainment. The sequence of priorities is flexible allowing for ownership of the process to be vested with the youth. The young person does the work — we support provide the opportunity.
Laurencrest Youth Services Inc. operates a licensed thirteen bed facility simply called “Laurencrest” for male youth between twelve and eighteen. We provide 24/7 coverage 365 days a year.
All placements follow a rigorous admission process including a thirty day orientation period during which they are helped to adjust to the program and develop an individualized plan of care. Shorter stays are fast tracked.
The program delivery is anchored in the structured daily living routine supported by intensive staff supervision. Elements of the daily routine include chores, school, sports, cognitive behavioural programming, community access, in-house activities and family contact.
We reach out beyond the walls of our facility in order to help youth in various ways and settings using a number of different programs and approaches.
These programs are delivered at a number of community based locations and in partnership with education, other social agencies, community groups or organizations.
Community Programs are provided to males and females between the ages of twelve and eighteen (with some exceptions).
