Program name:CSO
Funded by:SOLGEN
Initiation date:2013
Eligible ages:19+
Total families helped:460+ (2023-2024 fiscal)

Description of program:The Community Service Order program oversees offenders on probation who are required to meet a court-ordered sanction to volunteer a specified number of hours within the community. The program facilitates placements, monitors progress and acts as a liaison between the offender, the volunteer supervisor, and the Probation Officer.
Program duration:Until the end of the CSO order
What to expect:Clients with a CSO order are referred to the program by their supervising PPO. They are contacted to conduct an intake, and determine an appropriate placement option. On-going monitoring of the client will occur, until either all of the CSO conditions have been met, or to the end date of the Order.
Discharge process:A Termination Report is submitted to the PPO, providing details about the placement, the client’s tasks, and any feedback regarding performance. The file is then closed.
Referral process:Probation/Crown Attorney
